Shorb Lecture

The 2019 Mary Shorb Lecture was presented by Dr. Gökhan S. Hotamışlıgil, MD, PhD from Harvard University. The title of his talk was “Endoplasmic Reticulum in Health and Disease”. Dr. Hotamışlıgil is a Professor at Harvard University. He also serves as the James S. Simmons Chair of Genetics & Metabolism; Director at Sabri Ülker Center for Metabolic Research within the Department of Molecular Metabolism, located at Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health; He is an Assoc. Member at Harvard-MIT Broad Institute. Dr. Hotamışlıgil research efforts focus on the molecular and genetic basis of common and complex diseases, particularly cardiometabolic pathologies, diabetes, and fatty liver disease and their complications.
